He completed his undergraduate studies in mathematics and computer science at MIT and is currently working towards a masters of information and data science degree from UC Berkeley. A Deep Dive Into Machine Translation

The first attempts at machine translation began with using bilingual dictionaries and applying fixed, hand-curated rules for grammar and word reordering.
